Education and support should meet your unique family needs.

Our approach

I advocate for connection focused care and evidence-based resources for pregnancy and postpartum wellness, feeding support, and respectful parenting.

Parents deserve to feel empowered when making decisions for their family. This confidence is fostered by support throughout pregnancy, loss, birth, postpartum recovery and the early days of parenthood.
My goal is to provide holistic, accessible, and relationship-based support to families.

This also includes quality childbirth and parenting education in support of informed decision making throughout labour, birth and beyond.

Please reach out if you are looking for support navigating pregnancy, birth, postpartum or the parental transition. I’d love nothing more than to be part of your village

"Alex assisted me throughout my pregnancy, labor and postpartum. As a first time mother, I was excited for this next stage of my life but also scared and anxious of the unknown – especially labor! Within an hour of my labor starting, Alex was by my side comforting me (and my husband)!"

FAQs

What is a doula?

Information, encouragement and guidance are only a few of the ways doulas support clients during labour and throughout their recovery. They significantly increase positive birth experiences, and work closely with both partners and health care teams. Read more about the benefits of a doula here.

What is a perinatal educator?

A perinatal educator, also know as a childbirth educator, is someone who teaches and provides resources about pregnancy, birth and postpartum recovery. To learn more about how childbirth education can benefit you, check out this article I wrote on the topic.

Are your services covered by my health plan?

Depending on your health plan and provider, some Health Care Spending Accounts can be used for in-person doula services. I have a certifying letter from the governing body, Doula Canada, that you can submit to your health plan provider, along with your invoice.

Unfortunately, Doula 7-to-7 and Educational Ebooks are not covered by health insurance.

Let me help you find support that's right for you.
